What did the GOP learn from 2012 Election?

by Omar Fernandezoriginal link

Apparently nothing. A lot has been written and discussed on blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and News Channels on the election post-mortem, particularly what went wrong with the GOP. We learned that women, Asians, Hispanics, non-white males, young people and basically everyone other than (old) white males hate the GOP. Well, according to all of the pundits anyway. And maybe “hate” is too strong of a word…well, actually, not really. So what happens when you get your butt kicked? You review the tape. You see what mistakes you made. Did we not expect this particular play to happen? And if we did, why did we still screw that play up anyway? That’s exactly what the GOP has done. At least that’s what they’ve said they’ve done – they have supposedly reviewed the tape. And others have done it for them as well. And what do you do after a bad loss, you fix the mistakes you made and improve on the things you did well. The only problem is that you really didn’t do much right. You lost because you had a lot of mistakes. A LOT.
So, what has the GOP done to rectify their problems? Let’s see. Leadership is the same. Preibus will probably be RNC Chairman again. Their message – whatever that is – is not getting out. They are losing the PR battle once again. On one hand they talk a good game about reaching out to Hispanics, which they NEED to do if they ever want to win a national election, and pretty soon if they want to win in solid Red states that will soon be in play – like my state, Georgia. But, on the other hand, you have Ann Coulter going off on Hispancs as being lazy among other despicable things, and in my state, Georgia HB87 is moving forward after being stuck in court, and you actually have the Republicans in the Golden Dome giddy about it. Nice job on the Hispanic Outreach GOP. Excelente.
And now on to the Fiscal Cliff. The GOP leadership in the House, and Boehner specifically, is losing the PR battle. Purging the conservative voices from committee leadership positions is not helping the conservative cause. In fact, #FireBoehner has been a top trending hashtag on Twitter since his purge of fiscal conservative House members (Rep. Justin Amash and Rep. Tim Huelskamp) from the important Budget and Financial Services committees. President Obama is enjoying approval ratings not seen since the capture and death of Osama Bin Laden. An ABC News-Washington Post poll released Tuesday indicted that nearly half of Americans approve of Obama’s handling of the negotiations versus the quarter of respondents who approved of Boehner’s. And in a Wall Street Journal/NBC survey released late Wednesday, three-quarters of Americans say they would accept raising taxes on the wealthy to avoid the cliff. Here’s the thing though, raising taxes on the “rich” (successful) does not solve the nation’s huge $16 trillion debt and chronic budget deficits.
Obama refers to Clinton-era tax rates, yet we hear nothing from the GOP of Clinton-era spending. Balance, as defined in the President’s plan, consists of $4 in tax increases up front for every $1 in loosely defined spending cuts promised down the road. We have a spending problem in Washington and the President’s plan simply does nothing to address this. Nice job on the improved messaging GOP. Not.
So, again I will ask the question what did the GOP learn from the 2012 Election? Nada.

I agree with you, Omar Fernandez, that the Republicans do not appear to have learned much of anything about Rank and File Americans – either before or after this last national election!!!!!

Look at what the Republicans did in Arizona and Alabama – Before the election – See my comment to Luiz Alvarado thread – http://cafeconlecherepublicans.com/what-does-a-republican-civil-war-look-like.

My comment – start of comment –
“Although an interesting thread, Luiz Alvarado, I believe that the FIRST Republican Civil War – started with the election of Honest Abe Lincoln – in 1860 !!!! And NEVER FORGET – that there were a LOT of Republican Abolitionists – taking on the ISSUE of Slavery – in this FIRST Republican Civil War

So, Luiz Alvaradom the thrust of your thread – would deal with the SECOND, at BEST, Republican Civil War !!!! Actually, Luiz, what you write about is MORE of an issue of FRATRICIDE – WITHIN – the Republican Party !!!!! Fratricide – at least AGAINST the very folk that the Republicans CLAIM to want within their Political Party !!!!!!

But, Luiz Alvarado, this Republican FRATRICIDE War – is LARGELY a WAR – of Republicans against Republicans – and it CAN’T be an issue of Republicans WINNING this FRATRICIDE War – because the MAIN COMBATANTS – are ALL Republicans !!!!

So, Luiz Alvarado, the questions of HOW and WHAT and WHY of this Republican FRATRICIDE War is All about – and rests, as you indicate – 100% with the Republicans !!!!

I believe, Luiz Alvarado, that the infamous Alabama HB 56 law – the “Hammon-Beason Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act” – was written by the Republican Secretary of State – for KANSAS – and sponsored by the Tea Party endorsed Micky Hannon – Alabama representative – and Republican Scott Beason – and – PASSED by the MAJORITY Republican Alabama House – and – Majority Republican Alabama Senate – AND – Signed into LAW – by Republican Governor of Alabama, Robert Bently !!!!!

LOOK at the NAME of that act, Luiz Alvarado – the “Hammon-Beason Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act” !!!!!! IT’S an act – PROTECTING TAX PAYERS – and and act PROTECTING CITIZENS – TWO CORE Republican ISSUES !!!!

AND LOOK, Luiz Alvarado, at Arizona SB 1070 !!!!! AGAIN – this BILL PASSED by a Republican State Assembly – AND – a Republican State Senate – AND – signed into LAW – by – A Republican Governor !!!!!!

ONE would START TO THINK – that REPUBLICANS – JUST DON’T LIKE HISPANICS – all that much !!!!!!

I’m actually surprissed – that Romney – got ANY Hispanic Votes – with a REPUBLICAN RECORD like that !!!!!!!

So, Luiz Alvarado – you got it wrong when you say – “Only then will the Republican infrastructures begin to build bridges that will bring Latinos and other minority communities closer to Republican causes.”

What you SHOULD be saying, Luiz – IS – ONLY WHEN the Republican infrastructures begin to build bridges – to people – ALL of the people – will the Republicans be able to STOP this FRATRICIDAL WAR – within its own ranks !!!!!!

Just sayin’ !!!!!!” – end of comment.

So, Omar, Republicans – both – BEFORE – and AFTER – this last election – did NOT learn – that because – they DISMISS the Rank and File Americans – that these same Rank and File Americans – will, I repeat, will – DISMISS the Republican Party !!!!

Your comments, Omar – ARE RIGHT ON !!!!!

    Just sayin’ !!!!!

To Omar Fernandez: I read the title “What did GOP learn from 2012 Elections”
But your article does not answer your question. With that in mind, let me give you my opinion of why Romney lost:
    1. Mitt lost because of the same reason John McCain lost: Both were afraid of attacking Obama. Obama did not run on his ‘record’ he just attacked Romney. Attacks may be mean and vicious, but they work. Thats how Obama got second term.
    2. Romney did not loose bacause he did not get the Hispanic vote, he lost because he lost the Conservative vote. And if the GOP continues to marginalize Conservatives, they will continue to loose even if the GOP gets 50% of the Latino vote.
    3. The Latino and the Black vote will go to the Republicans ONLY when we can show them that: A. Our party is better for them and B. When we can show them that the liberal media is lying to them. That is a tough challenge, but it must be taken.

Im getting the feeling we are not on the same team. If you say your group is working for republicans, and i’m a republican, why the put down from you? You are really acting like those dumb ass democraps, who cant carry on a substantive conversation. So i ask you again, respectfully, what has your group done or are planning to do for the republican party? As I mentioned, maybe you have some good ideas I can put to use where I live.

My, MY, Hector – it looks like YOU are throwing your own Minnie Hissy-Fit!!!! I ONLY and ALWAYS – speak FOR MY SELF – and NEVER – EVER – EVER – Speak for any group!!!!!

Got that, Hector – I ONLY speak FOR – My SELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s look at this Hissy-Fit that YOU, Hector – ARE Throwing – and TRY to gain an understanding – of WHERE – YOU, Hector – are coming from!!!!!

1,) Hector – it looks like you PRAISE those 3 MILLION plus – UNPATRIOTIC folk who REFUSED to vote in this last NATIONAL election – a right and a PRIVALENGE – enjoyed by ALL TRUE BLUE American CITIZENS and PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!

2.) THEN, Hector – YOU get ALL bent out of shape when I – Bob Allen – SPEAKING ONLY FOR MY SELF – point out that these 3 MILLION – REFUSE-niks (as they would say in Russia) – ARE – UNPATRIOTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.) THEN, Hector – YOU Make the ASSUMPTION – that I – Bob Allen – SPEAK for a group – and NOT FOR MY SELF!!!!! I can CLEARLY SEE, Hector – that since YOU appear Ready and Able to speak FOR GROUPS – like those 3 MILLION UNPATRIOTIC Americans – that YOU, Hector – ASSUME (a word that makes an ASS out of U and ME) – that I DON’T Speak for my SELF!!!!!!

Hector – It looks like YOU – have OVER-STEPPED the Ego-Boundaries of your own Self – and then throw a Hissy-Fit – when I, Bob Allen – Confront YOUR SELF-RIGHTIOUSNESS!!!!!!

            Grow up, Hector!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hussein Obama did not get the conservative vote, period.
Hussein won because of the crap that happened in places like Las Vegas, where Dirty Harry was close to loosing his senate seat and what did the democraps do, they gave away close to half a million cell phones. While dumb downed electors continue to vote, we will continue to see our country go down the toilet.
